The code
About the code content
Is this the official code?
No. CodeCheck Colorado gives you summaries of the model codes plus each jurisdiction's local amendments, with the source shown (code section and adopting ordinance) so you can check it.
What do Verified and Unverified mean?
Verified means the amendment was checked against the adopted ordinance and code text. Unverified means it was researched from the city's published code but is still pending confirmation with the building department. Treat Unverified items as a strong lead, and confirm them before relying on them.
Where does the information come from?
From each jurisdiction's adopting ordinances and published municipal code (for example on Municode or eCode360), plus the ICC model codes. Every local rule lists its section and ordinance so you can look at the source yourself.
What happens when a city adopts a new code?
Each jurisdiction shows its adopted edition and effective date. When a city adopts a new edition or changes an amendment, we update it and notify people who follow that city.
I found something wrong. How do I report it?
Please contact us with the jurisdiction, the code section and what you're seeing. Inspectors and building departments are especially welcome to send corrections.
Coverage + trades
Where it works
Which cities and counties are covered?
136 I-25 / I-70 corridor jurisdictions are live today — Denver metro, the Springs area, Front Range north through Fort Collins / Greeley / Longmont, I-25 south to Trinidad, and I-70 west to Grand Junction. See the full list.
When will my city be added?
Corridor cities on I-25 and I-70 are already live. For cities outside that footprint, the plan is the rest of Colorado; request your city to help set the order.
Which trades are covered?
Plumbing (IPC) and fuel gas (IFGC) local amendment screens are live. HVAC/mechanical (IMC) and electrical (NEC) are coming soon.
How does it know which city I'm in?
With your permission, the app uses your phone's location to match the jurisdiction. You can always pick or pin a city by hand, which is useful when you're quoting from the shop.
Customers
Sharing with customers
Can I show this to a customer?
Yes, that's the point of Sell with Code. Screens are designed to be readable across a kitchen table, with the section number and ordinance on screen.
What does my customer see when I share a rule?
A simple web page with the rule, a plain-English explanation, the official source, the verification status and your name, company and phone number. They don't need the app. See an example.
Why are screens watermarked?
The watermark shows who pulled up the rule and when, so screenshots stay tied to the tech who shared them.

Yes. 14 days, no card needed.

Monthly plans are month to month. Final cancellation and refund terms will be in the Terms of Service (currently a draft).
What data do you collect?
See the draft Privacy Policy. In short: account details, the location you allow for city lookup, and basic usage data to keep the app working.
Is CodeCheck Colorado a government app?
No. It's an independent tool built for tradespeople and is not affiliated with the State of Colorado or any city or county building department.
